Jerry Moriarty Steps Up as PensionsEurope Chairperson

Jerry Moriarty, Chief Executive of the Irish Association of Pension Funds, has been appointed Chairperson of PensionsEurope, the Brussels-based federation representing national pension associations across the continent. The appointment marks a significant moment for Irish pensions, placing one of the sector's most experienced voices at the centre of European policy debate.Moriarty has led the IAPF since 2014, steering the organisation through a period of transformative change — from the implementation of the IORP II Directive to the ongoing rollout of Ireland's auto-enrolment programme. His appointment to the PensionsEurope chair reflects both his personal standing in the sector and the growing influence of Irish pension thinking at a European level."Irish pension funds face many of the same challenges as their European counterparts — sustainability, adequacy, governance, and the transition to a low-carbon economy," said Moriarty.
